When I was over at my sister’s house recently, she had an eBay search open on her laptop. She was looking at the Super Blue Spyderco models and asking why they were so special. They didn’t even look that blue. I told her they didn’t look blue because they were actually gray, and Super Blue is the name of the Japanese steel that’s used in all the sprint runs.
This one is beautiful. I’ve always liked the Spyderco Stretch, and only recently added a couple to my collection. Like the Blue ZDP-189 version I have (which is indeed blue,) this one is rare–probably too rare for me to carry. There was a discussion on one of the knife forums about how much these rare Spydies go up in value, but everyone seemed to agree they at least beat the interest you’d get on the average savings account.
